Installation of Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit to stop condensation on windows and walls

PIV is a very simple way of solving streaming water on the inside of windows, and the build-up of condensation and moisture in your home.
Supply and installation of a PIV unit will cost around £700, and installation will take less than one day with very little disruption.

- What is a PIV unit? The unit is a fan (with air filter sacks) ducted to a central location in your home.
- Where would a PIV unit be located in my home? In a loft space ducted through the ceiling, usually on to a landing or communal area.
- How does a PIV unit work? The unit draws air from the outside via your loft space through the filter sacks and into your home, placing a positive air pressure internally in the home.
- Will a PIV unit make my house cold? No. The ducted part into the house forces the air back up toward the ceiling, so no cold draft is felt and the system often helps warmer air, trapped higher in rooms, to circulate.
- How much does it cost to run a PIV unit? The unit runs 24 hours a day and costs around 0.5 pence per hour at current electricity prices.

£5000 off the cost of an air source heat pump

With the new government grant of £5000, my supplier of heat pumps, Alto Energy is knocking the grant funding off the initial cost. This translates to the customer only having to pay around £1500 for the air source heat pump equipment.
